BRICS P2p

BRICS Think Tank Council (BTTC) and BRICS Academic Forum (FABRICS)

Established in 2013, the BTTC comprises think tanks from each BRICS nation, with each national government nominating one institution. It facilitates the exchange of ideas among researchers, academics, and other research centers. The chairship of the BTTC is held by the think tank of the country chairing the bloc.

BTTC aims to strengthen, promote, and develop research cooperation, knowledge sharing, capacity building, and policy advice to BRICS members. Its attributions include meeting regularly at least once a year, organizing the BRICS Academic Forum (FABRICS), recommending policies to leaders, identifying priorities for cooperation, producing joint studies, facilitating exchange programs, and supporting members' research activities.

Priorities

BTTC top priority will be to contribute to the institutional development of the bloc. The other thematic priorities of the Brazilian presidency, however, will also be the specific subject of recommendations to the leaders. Similarly, exclusive sessions will be dedicated to discussing these issues at the FABRICS.

Planned Deliverables

1) BTTC Recommendations to BRICS Leaders;

2) Research Report on the "Portfolio on BRICS cooperation mechanisms”;

3) XVII FABRICS.
