As part of the lead-up to the Summit, the BRICS Policy Center at PUC-Rio will host the Brasil–China Dialogue on BRICS and Global Cooperation in Finance, AI, and the Green Transition on Thursday, July 3. The event will be held in the IAG Auditorium at PUC-Rio, and registration is currently open.

Organized in partnership with the Beijing Club for International Dialogue, the debate will unfold in three segments. The meeting opens at 9:00 a.m. with Chinese and Brazilian diplomats providing an overview of the countries’ bilateral cooperation, particularly under auspices of BRICS.

The first thematic session will focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI), featuring representatives from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Wits University (South Africa), and PUC-Rio.

The second session will address the green transition and climate cooperation in a multipolar world, with panelists from Tsinghua University (China), the National Scientific and Technical Research Council of Argentina, the National University of Rosario (Argentina), the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation, and PUC-Rio (Brasil).

The event is being held in parallel with the negotiations of the sherpas representing the eleven BRICS member states, which commenced today. The themes explored during the seminar align with the bloc’s top priorities and will be brought forward to the heads of state at the upcoming summit.

Those wishing to participate in the Brasil–China Dialogue on BRICS can fill out the form and register.
