Under Brasil’s BRICS Presidency, the National Youth Secretariat (Secretaria Nacional de Juventude) and the National Youth Council (Conselho Nacional da Juventude) are promoting Regional Thematic Seminars on Youth and BRICS. The initiative aims to strengthen the group’s People-to-People (P2P) pillar by encouraging social participation in discussions and the drafting of texts on the BRICS Youth Council’s seven priority areas.

During the seminars, five young Brazilians — one from each region of the country — will be selected as guest observers to participate in the Plenary Session of Youth Organizations from BRICS countries, to be held online on May 26, and in the 11th BRICS Youth Summit, taking place in Brasilia on June 9–10.

Designed to reinforce the priorities of Brazil's BRICS Presidency and the thematic pillars of the BRICS Youth Council, the seminars — open for registration until May 7 — will cover the following topics:

1. Social Participation, Social Work, and Volunteering (Lead country: South Africa)

2. Education, Training and Skills (Lead country: Russia)

3. Science, Technology, and Innovation (Lead country: China)

4. Youth Entrepreneurship (Lead country: India)

5. Development and Combating Hunger and Inequality (Lead country: Egypt)

6. Health and Sports (Lead country: Indonesia)

7. Youth, Environment, and Sustainability (Lead country: United Arab Emirates)

The agenda includes five online plenary sessions, according to the following schedule:
